Tuesday, January 10 | 2:00 - 2:30 PM
Event Type: Presentation
Location: High Performance Building Zone - West Concourse, Exhibit Hall WD, Booth W6157
What It's About:JR Babineau, Building Scientist, and Tom Calzavara, Field Technical Leader, will share how meeting and exceeding energy codes can be achieved with a variety of insulation and air-sealing products and the right installation technique. There is no one magic insulation product or system. You have choices. With a good building design and a breadth of products to choose from, you can meet home buyer needs and your budget. Join us (and bring your questions) to learn the basics of insulation and air-sealing and to understand why a builder might choose one system over another. Content presented by Johns Manville.
Through a series of live, interactive construction demonstrations, nationally acclaimed instructors and building science experts Matt Whitbeck, Kevin Ireton and Gord Cooke will take you through the practical, real-world side of high performance building and show you the latest methods and techniques for building various components into your homes.
And to complement these demonstrations, we've added a Building Performance Lab to the HPBZ in 2017. A small, finished model home with various cut-aways and see-through sections, the Lab gives you an inside-look at how high performance wall systems, floors, HVAC, insulation and more are constructed and finished, and how the products and techniques discussed and shown on our Demo Stage translate to a real structure.
NAHB - 0.5 CE hour(s)
Demos and activities in the High Performance Building Zone are free to attend and no pre-registration is required. To participate, please visit the HPBZ (Booth W6157) at the date and time indicated above. Seating will be available.
