The New American Home 2010 (TNAH) was shaping up to be a model of style, grace and technological innovation, built to the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard and the Department of Energy’s ENERGY STAR® program. That was before the home got caught up in the credit crisis that has hammered the home building industry across the country.
As a result of tight credit and a soft market for high-end homes in Las Vegas, The New American Home 2010 was not completed in time for tours during the International Builders’ Show . But as always, the showcase home included some of the most interesting and innovative new products on the market.
Sold at auction after foreclosure, the new owner finished the project to the previous specifications and the home was completed in time for the Las Vegas Parade of Homes later that year.
