For many builders, the most challenging part of the project has nothing to do with construction: it is dealing with emotional homeowners and drama that arises during the project. In this session, the "Zen Builder" will share his 30 years of wisdom gained from working with a wide range of homeowners. Learn four powerful steps to build trust with your clients and how to combat the mistrust common in the construction industry. You’ll discover how to identify potentially difficult clients and learn process steps for working with them to create a happy homeowner. We’ll also discuss how today’s communication best practices incorporate technology to communicate effectively and significantly improve the homeowner experience.

  • Learn methods to build a strong level of trust with homeowners, and understand the background behind the mistrust of the construction industry.
  • Determine if a client is going to be difficult by asking one question, and learn effective methods for working with the emotional homeowner.
  • Learn best practices for effective communication with your clients by using todays technology, including cloud-based project management systems.
  • Discover effective approaches to working with couples to improve communication, manage client expectations and reduce the marital strife often associated with projects.

Participants must be registered for a full registration package or a 1-day education with expo pass package valid for the day of the session they wish to attend. Seating for Building Knowledge sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
