Managers take action in every step of the project life cycle. Witnesses are often satisfied with the status quo and have little sense of innovation or urgency. This advanced session focuses on the biggest part of the construction process—the practical day-to-day of what it means to be a truly successful project manager. Through the use of situational leadership assessment, case studies and other interactive instruments, explore how to establish win-win relationships and tackle problem-solving, conflict management, coaching, negotiation and more from job start-up to close-out. Get to the heart of what it means to effectively manage the job and hone in on the specific skills needed to take your ability and your projects to the next level.

  • Understand the project managers role when times are tough, budgets are tight and the field is feeling the pinch.
  • Learn how to balance competing demands while boosting creativity, enthusiasm and commitment which leads to maximized productivity and profitability.
  • Explore ways to adjust your leadership style to fit changing conditions on the job site by winning cooperation and trust throughout the construction process.
  • Create a positive work climate by communicating more effectively and by resolving conflicts among team members.

Participants must be registered for a full registration package or a 1-day education with expo pass package valid for the day of the session they wish to attend. Seating for Building Knowledge sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
