  • Industry: I'm an architect for a custom home builder and active member of my local HBA.
  • Favorite Builders' Show feature: I often walk 10-15 miles per day checking out all of the latest and greatest products, tools, and software throughout the industry. The hands on demonstrations are also a huge plus.
  • 'Pro' tip for a first-time IBS attendee: Wear comfortable shoes! It really is a lot of walking regardless of if you go to the exhibit hall or education classes. I would also recommend doing your best to schedule your time and have a plan.
  • What do you like to do for fun? Our HBA always has a hospitality room each evening at the show which is a great opportunity to network more with local builders from my HBA. I try to sneak away at least one evening to go to the IBS Closing Concert or other national networking events.

  • What do you like to do for fun? While at the show, I try to go for a hike/walk where the show is located to see some of the local sites. Bonus if I can arrange to do it with other "friends" who are attending the show. I also try to meet up with other industry friends for a coffee or lunch. That's usually a highlight for me.
