What is IBSx?

IBSx is the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) virtual experience, and will connect the home building industry together, online. This comprehensive, business-building event in residential construction, will include new product pavilions, networking opportunities and exclusive interactive education to help you find solutions, tap into the latest industry trends and propel your business into the future.

When is IBSx?

Tuesday, February 9 - Friday, February 12, 2021

How will IBSx work?

In late January, you will receive an email with your login and password to the virtual platform. You'll log in each day of the show to experience IBSx and interact with other attendees and exhibitors.

What can I expect at IBSx?

The IBSx virtual experience will consist of:

  • The NEW Start Up and Home Tech Zones
  • NEW Product demos
  • Virtual tours of The New American Home® and The New American Remodel®

Attending

Who should attend IBSx?

Any residential construction or light commercial construction industry pro, including home builders, remodelers, Realtors®, dealers/distributors, contractors and other industry pros.

How can I register to attend?

Registration is available online. View IBSx Registration Fees & Deadlines.

Do I have to be a member of NAHB to attend the show? 

No. You do not have to be a member of NAHB to attend the show. However, NAHB members are eligible for discounted registration fees. In addition, if an employee in your company is an NAHB member, all employees of your company may select from the discounted member registration fee options. See NAHB membership for more information.

I believe that someone in my company is a member of NAHB. How do I verify membership?

Call NAHB Data Services at 800-368-5242 x8313 between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm (Eastern) or email [email protected].

Registration Changes/Refunds/Cancellation

What happens to my registration now that the show is virtual?

If you registered on or before October 9, 2020, for the in-person IBS your registration has been transferred to the virtual event with the same access you had for the in-person event. NAHB will process a refund for the difference between the applicable in-person registration fee and the virtual registration fee. Refunds will be issued within 60 days to the card that was originally used to pay for your registration.

Spouse registrants have been automatically converted to an Expo Pass.

What if I want to change my registration access for the virtual event?

If you would like to upgrade your virtual registration access to an All Access: Education + Expo Pass you can do so by logging back into your registration record, choosing the upgraded registration option and provide the additional payment online.

If you would like to remove the education access from an All Access: Education + Expo Pass registration then you will need to submit a written request to [email protected] by November 7, 2020. A refund of the difference between the Education + Expo Pass and the virtual Expo Pass will be issued to the card that was originally used to pay for your registration within 60 days of receipt of your request.

I registered on or before October 9, how do I cancel my registration?

We hope you'll join us to take advantage of an amazing virtual experience with new products, demos and the latest industry trends, but if you would still like to cancel your registration you will need to submit a written request to [email protected] by November 7, 2020. A refund will be issued to the card that was originally used to pay for your registration within 60 days of receipt of your request. After November 7, 2020 refund requests will not be honored.

I registered after October 10, how do I cancel my registration?

An Expo Pass is non-refundable and all sales are final. With the All Access Pass: Education + Expo, once a registration has been processed, a $35 fee will be charged per cancellation. Requests for refunds must be received in writing by January 8, 2021 via email at [email protected], by fax at 301-694-5124 or by mail to: IBSx, Registration and Housing Office, c/o Experient, 5202 President's Court, Suite G100, Frederick, MD 21703.

What happens to my hotel reservations?

If you made a hotel reservation through NAHB on or before October 9, 2020, your reservation has been automatically cancelled without penalty.

If you have made hotel arrangements through a third party, you will need to contact them directly. NAHB is not responsible for travel related cancellation expenses.

Unsolicited emails

If I receive an email solicitation from anyone other than NAHB claiming they can sell me access to an authentic IBS attendee list is that legitimate?

No. It is a scam and we would recommend that you flag it as SPAM and delete the email.

IBSx Education Information 

Education Options

What educational opportunities are available at the show?

There are a variety of educational opportunities available at the show:

  • Building Knowledge Sessions (All Access Pass Only)
  • Master Sessions (All Access Pass Only)
  • Tech Bytes (All Access Pass Only)
  • Game Changers (All Access Pass Only)
  • Construction and Technology Demos
  • Daily Keynotes

What is the difference between Building Knowledge Sessions, Master Sessions and Tech Bytes?

Building Knowledge sessions are 45-minutes in length and the foundation of IBSx Education. Master Sessions are advanced 2-hour programs that dig deep into specific industry topics. Tech Bytes are 30-minute sessions that address the latest tech applications and platforms.

IBSx Education sessions offer information on the latest trends, newest techniques and forward-thinking business strategies. They are available to all Virtual Event - All Access Pass: Education + Expo registrants. Virtual Event - Expo Pass registrants are not eligible. 

Education Access

Do I have to be registered for the show to attend the IBSx education sessions? 

Yes, you must purchase a Virtual Event - All Access Pass: Education + Expo registration for unlimited access to education sessions.  

Do I have to be registered for the show to attend the Master Sessions?

Yes, a Virtual Event - All Access Pass: Education + Expo registration is required for Master Sessions. There will be no separate fees aside from this registration to attend.

Will I be able to register for specific education sessions?
Yes, you will receive login details to access the IBSx platform in late-January and will be able to register for specific education sessions at that time.

How can I access IBSx Education session recordings after the Virtual Event? 

IBSx will remain open to attendees through March 31, 2021. In this time period, all Virtual Event - All Access Pass: Education + Expo registrants will have unlimited access to the 100+ education sessions that IBSx offers.

I have access to the 2020 IBS Education on Demand. When does my access expire?

If you were eligible for the 2020 IBS Education on Demand, you will have access to the 2020 recordings through February 2021. Questions? Contact Hannah Murray at 202-266-8184 or [email protected].

Where do I obtain additional information on Professional Designation programs offered by NAHB?

Examples include Certified Graduate Builder or CGB, Certified Graduate Remodeler or CGR, and Certified Green Professional or CGP. Can I earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at IBSx?

Yes, NAHB and NKBA CEU hours are available through IBSx education sessions. An All Access Pass is required to participate in IBSx education. Eligible CEU hours are included on the session description page for each individual session. See education search for more details.

How can I become a speaker at the 2021 show?

The Request for Proposals (RFP) for speaking at IBSx 2021 is now closed. Want to be notified when the 2022 RFP opens? Please complete our IBS speaker inquiry form and we'll email you when we begin accepting applications.
