General Show Information

When and where is the 2023 International Builders' Show?

Where are the IBS exhibits and when are they open?

IBS exhibits are located in the West Hall, Central Hall, South Hall Level 2 and in the Silver Lot 1 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. See the map of the exhibit locations.

IBS exhibits will be open Tuesday, January 31 - Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm daily.

No. You do not have to be a member of NAHB to attend the Show. However, NAHB members are eligible for discounted registration fees. Are children allowed to attend?

Yes, children under 18 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times when in the exhibit areas. Registration of children is complimentary and must be done onsite. All children except infants in backpacks or slings must be registered and display a badge to be admitted to the exhibit areas. Strollers for children are permitted in the Exhibit areas during published Show hours. Attendees assume all risks associated with the use of strollers on the Show floor, including but not limited to personal injury or property damage.

Is photography allowed on the Exhibit floor?

No, due to the sensitive nature of new products and unique booth displays at the Show, photography and/or video recording of any booths within the Exhibit areas by any attendee/exhibitor personnel is prohibited. Exceptions are made only when permission is obtained from the exhibitor whose booth/product is being photographed/videotaped and/or all individuals appearing in the photograph or video.

Can I purchase photos of the 2023 International Builders' Show?

Do I have to be a member of NAHB to attend the Show?

How long after I register should I be expected to receive a confirmation?

You will receive a email confirmation immediately upon completing your registration.

I think I've already registered. How do I verify my registration?

Call the Registration and Housing Office at 747-226-7761 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (Central) or email [email protected].

How do I make changes to my registration information prior to the Show?

You can make changes to your registration online using your confirmation number and last name to log into your record. If you do not have your confirmation number, changes can be made by calling the Registration and Housing Office at 747-226-7761 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (Central).

What is the registration cancellation policy for the Show?

Expo Pass (including spouses): Non-refundable and all sales are final.

Expo+Education Pass, First Time Attendee, Expo+1-Day Education Pass (including spouses): Once a registration has been processed, a $35 fee will be charged per cancellation. If a registration & special event ticket bundle is purchased only the registration fee portion of the bundle is refundable as outlined above. The special event ticket portion of the bundle is non-refundable. Requests for refunds must be received in writing by December 30, 2022 via email at [email protected].

Special Events: Tickets to special events including those purchased in a bundled registration package are non-refundable. All sales are final.

Weather: A request for a weather-related refund of registration fees will be considered by NAHB at its sole discretion, on a case-by-case basis, provided the request is received by NAHB within five (5) business days after the close of the Event. If approved, in lieu of a refund of the amount of the registration fee, NAHB will register the individual for the next Event at no charge and will provide the identical registration type that was originally purchased.

What are the onsite Attendee Registration locations and hours?

IBS 2023 onsite registration information will be posted this fall before the Show.

If I receive an email solicitation from anyone other than NAHB claiming they can sell me access to an authentic IBS attendee list is that legitimate?

No. It is a scam, and we would recommend that you flag it as SPAM and delete the email.

Hotel and Transportation Information

What are the Official Show Hotels and how do I book a room?

Hotel reservations can be made online during the registration process. All hotel accommodation requests must be made through the NAHB International Builders' Show Registration and Housing Office or online. Show hotels will not accept individual or direct requests for rooms. Follow this link to book your hotel room.  View the map of all the hotels.

What are the benefits of booking hotel rooms through the Show?

For your convenience, NAHB organizes rooms with an assortment of outstanding Las Vegas hotels that offer a wide variety of accommodations, amenities and very competitive rates. We understand that you have many options for making hotel reservations. However, by supporting NAHB's commitment to the Las Vegas hotel community, you benefit in many ways, including:

How do I find my State or Local Association assigned hotel?

IBS 2023 state and local hotel assignments can be viewed here.

What is the hotel cancellation and modification policy?

On or before January 4, 2023: Final deadline to make changes and room cancellations online.

January 5-9, 2023: Please send change or cancellation requests by email to [email protected].

January 10, 2023: No cancellations or modifications may be made during this time. All hotel reservations are being processed and transferred to the hotels. The hotel will charge a first night’s room and tax deposit to the credit card provided upon receiving the reservation.

Commencing January 11, 2023: Attendees must contact the hotel directly to cancel or modify room reservations. Failure to cancel in accordance with the cancellation policy printed on your confirmation will result in the forfeiture of the entire deposit. Under no circumstances will NAHB be responsible for refunding or returning a processing fee or room deposit for a canceled room reservation nor will NAHB be responsible for any damages from a failure to cancel a reservation.

January 17, 2023: Hotel confirmation numbers will be sent to all those who have hotel reservations.

*NOTE: Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival day or cancellation of the hotel reservation could result in a first night’s room and tax penalty. Please refer to the hotel confirmation for the specific cancellation policy at your hotel.

Will transportation be provided between the Official Show Hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center?

Yes, complimentary shuttle service will be provided between Official Show Hotels and the LVCC, except for properties that are not within walking distance of the convention center. Find the shuttles here.

What other modes of transportation can I take to the Las Vegas Convention Center?

In addition to complimentary shuttle service from Official Hotels to the LVCC, there are several other ways to get to the Show:

The Monorail - It connects the Las Vegas Convention Center to the following hotels along the Las Vegas Strip: MGM Grand Station, Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas Station, Flamingo/Caesars Palace Station, Harrah’s/TheLINQ Station, and SAHARA Las Vegas Station. Traveling at a top speed of 50 mph, the system is a safe, clean and reliable way to travel to and from the 2023 International Builders' Show.

The Loop - Vegas Loop at the Las Vegas Convention Center quickly transports passengers throughout the 200-acre Las Vegas Convention Center campus in a fun and convenient way, free of charge. The system consists of two one-way, .8-mile-long tunnels built to accommodate all-electric Tesla vehicles driving at speeds of up to 35 mph. The LVCC Loop reduces a 25-minute walk to a less than two-minute ride.

Taxis - Take a taxi to and from the LVCC, the airport, and the official show hotels.

Uber/Lyft - Uber and Lyft are car pickup services that can be a great alternative to waiting in long transportation lines. You can download the Uber app or Lyft app to your smartphone.

Are there any special rates on airfare or rental car rates for attendees of the Show?

Yes, NAHB negotiates special travel and transportation discounts for attendees of the International Builders' Show.

Where can I park at the Las Vegas Convention Center and how much does it cost?

Limited parking is available at the LVCC. See the parking map of the LVCC.

Can I park my car overnight at the Las Vegas Convention Center?

No, overnight parking at the Convention Center is prohibited. Vehicles left overnight will be towed at the owner's risk and expense.

Is there a place to store luggage at the Las Vegas Convention Center?

Yes, there are dedicated rooms available at the LVCC located in the following:

Pre-Show Education Course Information

What educational opportunities are available at the Show?

There are three types of educational opportunities available at the Show:

  • Pre-Show IBS Master Workshops
  • IBS Education Sessions

    Where can I find Pre-Show Education fees and cancellation information?

    View the Pre-Show NAHB Education Fees and Cancellation Policies. An IBS Expo Pass is included with the purchase of an NAHB Education course.

    IBS Master Workshops cost $75 per person per workshop and are non-refundable. All sales are final. An IBS Registration is required to purchase a ticket and attend a Master Workshop.

    What is the difference between Pre-Show NAHB Education Courses, IBS Master Workshops and IBS Education Sessions?

    Pre-Show NAHB Courses are half-day and full-day courses on specific topics taught by NAHB-approved instructors. They are not included with registration for the Show and require a separate fee.

    IBS Master Workshops are in-depth, 3-hour intensive programs that dig deep into industry topics. IBS Registration is required to purchase a ticket and attend a Master Workshop.

    IBS Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Expo+Education Pass and Expo+1-Day Education Pass Registrants.

    If I register for IBS, am I automatically registered for Pre-Show NAHB Education courses or IBS Master Workshops?

    No, a separate fee and registration is required for each type of education.

    Do I have to be registered for the Show to attend the Pre-Show NAHB Education Courses?

    No, Pre-Show Education is a separate registration which includes an Expo Pass to access the IBS, KBIS, and NHS exhibit floors Tuesday, January 31 through Thursday, February 2.

    Do I have to be registered for the Show to attend the IBS Master Workshops?

    Yes, any IBS registration type is required to attend a Master Workshop.

    Can I register for Pre-Show NAHB Education courses or IBS Master Workshops on-site?

    If space allows, tickets may be available for purchase prior to the start of the course.

    How long after I register should I expect to receive a confirmation?

    You will receive a confirmation immediately upon completing your registration. You will receive details on room locations and times for each course by mail within two weeks prior to the event.

    Can I purchase the Pre-Show Education materials without registering for and attending the courses?

    No, the course materials are not sold separately.

      How can I become a speaker at the 2023 Show?

      The Request for Proposals (RFP) for speaking at IBS 2023 is now closed. Please complete our IBS speaker inquiry form and we'll email you when we begin accepting applications for IBS 2024.

      Whom should I contact with more specific questions about IBS Education sessions?

      Where do I obtain additional information on Professional Designation programs offered by NAHB?

      Access to the 2022 IBS Education On-Demand Library has now ended. Session recordings from the 2023 IBS Education sessions are included in an Expo+Education Pass registration.

      International Attendee Information

      I am not from the United States. What do I need to do to attend the 2023 International Builders' Show?

      Depending on your citizenship, you may or may not need a visa to travel to the United States to attend the International Builders’ Show. You can also find out more information via the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs.

      I need a Letter of Invitation for my visa interview. How can I request one?

      Letters of Invitation will be available upon request. You MUST be a registered attendee or exhibitor of the 2023 Builders' Show to request a letter of invitation. During registration, you will be asked if you require a Letter of Invitation. If yes, you will be presented with an online form to confirm the necessary information for the letter. Upon completion of your registration, you will receive a PDF copy of the letter of invitation via email. You may also choose to receive a mailed copy in your request.

      I need my letter more quickly. Can you ship is via express mail?

      Yes. If you need to receive your letter more quickly, we can send it via Federal Express or UPS. You will need to include a valid Federal Express or UPS account number when submitting your request. If you do not include a valid account number, the letter will be sent by standard international mail. NAHB may contact you via email to verify this information.

      Can you send my letter of invitation to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate for my interview?

      No. NAHB cannot send letters directly to embassies or consulates. No exceptions are made.

      I am from a country that is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), so I do not need a visa or letter of invitation. Is there anything else I need to do?

      Yes. A valid Electronic System of Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval is required for all eligible Visa Waiver Program (VWP) participants to travel to the United States. The Department of Homeland Security's ESTA is an automated system used to determine the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the VWP. ESTA applications may be completed FREE online at the official Department of Homeland Security website.

      This is not my first time at IBS - I have traveled to the U.S. and/or attended the Show before. Do I still need ESTA approval?

      Yes. The Department of Homeland Security strictly enforces this requirement. VWP travelers who have not obtained approval through ESTA should expect to be denied boarding on any air carrier bound for the United States. Be sure to fill out and submit your application well in advance of your travel dates.
