The 2023 Design Charrette: Discuss, Design, Discover
Monday, January 30 | 1:00 - 4:00 PM
LVCC - West 229
What It’s About
Are you an architect, designer or builder interested in new viewpoints on home design? Unsure about charrettes or their benefit? Still finding your sea legs for designing single family homes? If you said “yes” to any of these, then kick off your IBS education experience at the 2023 Design Charrette! This interactive program brings together attendees from across the country to exchange ideas and jointly tackle a series of design challenges including lot size, buyer profile, location and more. Small groups will work alongside an experienced architect to explore common pitfalls, discuss changes and draft specific solutions. Group leaders will then present their results to all, allowing you to walk away with countless new ideas and unique perspectives about today’s top design trends.
What You’ll Learn
- Identify key design priorities and features for different buyer profiles.
- Discuss the advantages/disadvantages of different design solutions for a lot.
- Understand how to evaluate a lot, and how to determine which design solution may be the best fit depending on location, target market, and other constraints.
- Hear from fellow builders and designers how they approach common design challenges and share solutions for future work.
