What It's About
The home building industry is more cyclical and more challenging than most industries. Do you know what else is challenging and complex? Operating a nuclear submarine. While the two may seem worlds apart, success in both often comes down to one primary skill—solving problems. With a focus on process (policies, procedures), people (training and development, leadership), and communication (organizational structure, communication channels), this session will demonstrate how one builder CEO applies many of the lessons learned in running a Navy submarine to the construction industry to make his company and team more efficient, productive and profitable.
What You’ll Learn
- Learn how to put processes in place to help your teams do their jobs easier without limiting creativity.
- Find ways to develop your teams and invest in training and professional development.
- Discover the importance of a high level of communication (internally, with subcontractors, with customers, with lenders and investors) and how to maintain it.
- Realize your primary job is to solve problems regardless of what your job description says or on days where you just can't seem to win.
