They have partnered with LuxWall, Inc. to debut the Enthermal™ vacuum insulating glass (VIG), which offers superior insulation and acoustic performance. This year Kolbe is showcasing its partnerships with various glass options to provide privacy, comfort and convenience to modern households. • Kolbe has partnered with LuxWall, Inc. and is debuting its vacuum insulating glass (VIG) at IBS, marking a significant milestone in their collaboration first announced a year ago. The innovative VIG design, Enthermal™, is expected to be available later this year. VIG features an airless space, or vacuum, between two panes of glass, which allows it to achieve insulating values similar to wall insulation. This technology dramatically reduces heat gain from the sun and heat loss from a warmed interior, lowering energy consumption and costs. In addition, Enthermal provides improved acoustic performance compared to standard glass products. Although the partnership was announced previously, achieving the full window rating with this advanced glass required extensive testing. Kolbe worked with multiple accredited labs to meet rigorous performance standards and fully understand the complexities involved in this innovative technology. LuxWall’s Enthermal VIG also represents a major advancement as the first VIG product made in the United States, and it is fully tempered for added durability and performance. • A bird-friendly glass option, ORNILUX® Mikado, is demonstrated in a VistaLuxe AL LINE casement window, where visitors can see the subtle pattern in the glass that provides a visible barrier for birds, helping them avoid flying into it as they travel. It is one of the various bird-friendly glass options Kolbe offers across its product range. • Kolbe also showcases its CLiC™ On-demand Privacy Glass option within a two-wide direct set positioned below a row of kitchen cupboards. CLiC’s polymer stabilized cholesteric texture (PSCT) liquid crystal technology is applied directly to the glass, allowing it to switch from obscure to transparent on demand. This provides reliable, responsive privacy at the touch of a button—ideal for spaces such as entranceways, bedrooms, bathrooms and home offices. The system can be controlled through light switches, touch panels or home automation systems, offering versatile privacy solutions for any home. • In addition, Kolbe offers select products integrated with Gauzy’s LCG® Smart Glass Technology. An Ultra Series XL casement window with a Tea Leaf finish, featuring Gauzy’s polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films laminated between the glass, allows the window to switch from obscure to transparent. This year, Kolbe introduces a new sliding door product to its VistaLuxe® WD LINE, offering a new way to elevate a home’s functionality and style with added convenience. • Kolbe debuts its new VistaLuxe WD LINE Stretta™ sliding door with smooth operation to easily unlock and glide immense panels. When closed, the active panel tightly seals around all four sides of the door for enhanced performance against air, water and noise infiltration. The Stretta sliding door shown in Kolbe’s booth is an impressive 20-foot-wide by 10-foot-3-inch tall, consisting of one active panel approximately 10-foot by 10-foot and one stationary piece of glass direct set into the frame of almost equal size. Available in two, three or four bi-parting panel configurations with maximum panel widths up to 118 inches and maximum panel heights of 141 inches, the Stretta™ sliding door offers customizable options to suit a variety of space and design needs. The Black Anodized exterior blends with the siding, while the Ebony-stained Alder interior is completed with a Hoppe® Dallas style Matte Black handle. Other handle styles available for the Stretta sliding door include Hoppe’s Atlanta and Amsterdam, as well as a 180-degree inset handle with flush pull. Visitors to the booth can engage with the environment to operate Kolbe’s expansive doors and experience the variety of options presented, from screens to automation. • An 18-foot-wide by 9-foot-tall VistaLuxe AL LINE pocketing multi-slide door with integrated handles is fully automated and finished with an Ultra Pure White color on both the interior and exterior. The system also includes a retractable Centor® screen door, featuring Standard Weave insect mesh on the left panel and a Graphite Shade on the right, with both panels sliding in opposite directions to pocket into the wall. Above the door, a set of automated awnings crafted from Kolbe’s VistaLuxe WD LINE complements the design, featuring a Bright White painted wood interior for a cohesive look. • A Forgent® Series complementary multi-slide door with AutoSlide™ enhances indoor-outdoor living through automation in a space designed to resemble an accessory dwelling unit (ADU). One panel remains stationary, while the others can be operated via a wall switch, key fob or smartphone app, as demonstrated in the booth. The system also includes a retractable screen for active panels, and the unit features a striking Midnight exterior finish that frames the design.
