While earning a BFA in Interior Architecture and Design, Tami was captivated by the technicalities of floor plans and the conventions of spatial design. This affinity led to the development of carefully honed space planning skills, which set the stage for the start of Tami Faulkner Design in 2000. As the designer of hundreds of custom floor plans in various sizes and architectural styles, Tami has built a reputation for offering an artistic yet thorough and intentional approach to floor plan design with a keen ability to define space that would otherwise go unused, underutilized, or underdeveloped. In 2021, Tami launched a stand-alone virtual floor plan review service. Since that time, she has reviewed hundreds of floor plans for clients not only in the US and Canada but also internationally, where she identifies spatial challenges through a redlining process and then provides overlay sketches showing potential solutions. Tami shares her expertise by writing a weekly article published in the Design Journal on her website. Through this platform, she educates and illustrates the importance of proficient floor plan design.
