What It's About:
How does your specific climate zone dictate which high performance structural assemblies work best for the wall systems and the roof? Jason will discuss the four distinct framing, insulation and weatherization options that are contained in the Building Performance Lab and detail the zones in which they would perform best. Included in this discussion will be the reason behind the “cold roof” that is used on the Lab and why it has advantages over other roof systems. He’ll also discuss the construction costs associated with each style.
What You’ll See and Learn:
- Framing styles: determining which is best for long term costs savings, construction costs associated with each and how each style affects home performance
- Double studded walls versus conventionally framed walls
- Cold roof applications and advantages for new construction
How to Participate:
Demos and activities in the High Performance Building Zone are free to attend and no pre-registration is required. To participate, please visit the HPBZ at the date, time and location indicated above. Seating will be available.
