What It's About:
The best lighting is something that most people will never notice. However, different residents of a home can have very different needs. A 20-year-old requires at least 404 lumens to light a kitchen counter, for example, but at 40 you need at least 807. And just wait what happens at 60! Technology now allows us to thoughtfully plan the lighting in our homes so that they feel well-lit for everyone—which means no more electricians walking around a room placing recessed light fixtures at random. We have great automated light controls that can be adjusted to the person in the room, along with tools that allow us to easily calculate lighting needs and outputs. Let’s put away those 6” can lights and talk lighting that is effective, while increasing safety and energy efficiency.
