Chris Schell Founder & CEO, Schell Brothers Chris Schell is the Founder and CEO of Schell Brothers, one of the most admired private homebuilders in the nation. With a people-first approach and a mission to prioritize happiness above profit, Schell Brothers has redefined what success looks like in the homebuilding industry. Chris graduated from MIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and began his career in finance, working for legendary commodities trader Marty Schwartz. He founded his own algorithmic trading firm while earning his MBA from Harvard Business School. However, Chris sought more meaning in his work despite his professional success as a hedge fund manager. In 2003, he followed his heart and launched Schell Brothers in Delaware. What began as a local DE homebuilder has since expanded to Richmond, Nashville, and Boise, earning national acclaim for its culture and customer experience. In 2023, Builder magazine named Schell Brothers Builder of the Year, and Chris was recognized as a Delaware 222 Changemaker by Delaware Business Times. That same year, Schell Brothers also received the Builder of the Year honor from the Home Builders Association of Delaware. Chris has served on the University of Delaware Board of Trustees, the Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. He lives in Lewes, Delaware, with his wife and three children.
