To work in offsite construction, not everyone needs to be an expert in moisture transport and hygrothermal analysis. Still, we all need to know enough to avoid catastrophic consequences down the line. This session focusing on wall assembly design will introduce multiple concepts related to moisture and how to manage it, including:

• Moisture transport, through both diffusion and air leaks
• Introduction to permeance
• Dew point, sheathing temperatures, and exterior insulation
• Mold and what conditions it grows in
• An analysis of a wall assembly and how various products can contribute to strong moisture management
• Tips for material selection and things you may want to consider for your next build
