LVCC - IBS Construction Performance Zone - SU844
What It’s About
Homes around the country are faced with a variety of climate related risks including hurricanes, tornados, hail and wildfire. Understanding your severe weather threat, frequent failure modes of homes and methods to prevent avoidable damage can help narrow the path of damage caused by devastating climate events. Researchers at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) have studied how wind, wind driven rain, hail and wildfire lead to common failure points. In this program, explore the trends identified, how to prioritize mitigation actions and ways to maximize the investment in resilient construction methods to reduce avoidable suffering and financial loss.
