Lilypad Paint is the first product launched with this technology. We are now expanding Vaporwisp™ into weather-resistant wraps, integrated sheathing, and roofing underlayments to deliver a new generation of adaptive, high-performance materials.

Adept Materials is an advanced materials company redefining how buildings manage moisture. Founded by Brown University physicist Dr. Derek Stein, the company commercializes Vaporwisp™, a patented technology designed to regulate humidity and improve indoor durability and comfort without mechanical systems.

Its first product, Lilypad™ Paint & Primer, is a humidity-responsive interior coating system that transforms walls into active regulators. Developed from university research and refined through years of prototyping and pilot testing, Lilypad absorbs, stores, and releases water vapor to help manage everyday interior moisture.

Lilypad will be featured in the New Product Zone at the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, highlighting breakthrough building innovation. Attendees can visit Adept Materials, Lilypad’s parent company, at Booth W7493 in the West Hall to learn more about how adaptive materials are shaping the next generation of high-performance homes.

Now available nationwide in Perfect White, Lilypad marks Adept Materials’ first commercial product and a significant step toward smarter, climate-responsive building materials.
