Greg Wilson, Founder and CEO of HempWood
Greg Wilson is the founder of HempWood, a manufacturer of hemp and soy-based alternative wood products. His work centers on the development and scale-up of sustainable building materials that leverage agricultural fibers as high-performance alternatives to traditional hardwoods. As current owner and operator, Wilson and his business model have become a staple in the world of hemp, opening two factories in the center of hemp production in western Kentucky. In his early career, Wilson worked in the bamboo flooring industry in China, which lead to the development of respiratory issues from formaldehyde exposure. The heavy usage of formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals throughout the manufacturing process drove Wilson to create HempWood, a healthier and more sustainable alternative, outperforming other hardwoods. -
