Kara Rockefeller Williams is the co-Founder and Director of Interiors for makrDESIGN, an acclaimed boutique firm serving the dynamic, robust multifamily market. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Houston, makrDESIGN brings a passion for excellence in Interior Design and Architecture to a varitey of residential projects across the country. Prior to starting makrDESIGN, Kara was the Director of Interiors for Kathy Andrews Interiors. Kara builds on more than 30 years of diverse experience for her leadership role at makr. Upon graduating from the Art Institute of Houston in 1987, she began her journey into interiors with ISD Incorporated, working on large corporate and commercial projects, an experience that allowed her to cultivate meaningful professional relationships that would forever continue to expand her career. The majority of her experience was established with Morris Architects in Houston, working in the interiors department on commercial projects and tenant development. Kara also grew her skills at contract positions with leading firms such as Ziegler Cooper, Janita Lo & Associates and McCoy while raising a daughter and being active in her community. She continues to seek out opportunities to learn, grow and engage with her peers in the larger design community, and is honored to be included in industry conferences such as this one.
