Shifting Demographic Trends: What’s Next for the U.S. Housing Market
Wednesday, February 1 | 1:00 - 2:00 PM
LVCC - West 219
What It’s About
Demographics drive the demand for housing, and the last two years have transformed demographic trends—some temporarily, and some permanently. Housing demand has flourished due to the timing of a large cohort of young adults forming households as well as more emphasis on the home itself as people spend more time there. The flexibility of working remotely has created new opportunities for households to relocate. Diminished immigration has further decelerated an already slow-growing labor pool, but job openings remain higher than the number of applicants. This session will provide more clarity on the demographic trends ahead, and how they impact society, the economy, and housing demand and product preferences.
