    What It's About

Regulation is an increasingly difficult problem affecting multifamily development today, often determining whether a project moves forward, stalls, or never gets built. Inclusionary zoning, rent control, parking requirements, legal challenges, and permitting delays directly impact costs, timelines, and deal viability. This program explores how regulatory pressures are evolving and impacting multifamily markets across the U.S. and, more importantly, how developers are adapting from a business standpoint—adjusting assumptions, managing risk, and navigating constraints to keep projects feasible in an increasingly regulated environment.
