Greg is a Founding Principal at Smith Gee Studio with well over two decades of experience in the practice of architecture and planning. His career has focused on urban redevelopment, community planning, downtown and neighborhood revitalization projects, traditional neighborhood design guidelines, town architect services, and traditional neighborhood architecture. His contributions to a multitude of complex projects have transformed neighborhoods, communities, and cities throughout the Southeast and beyond. Through his experience with both public and private sector planning and development, Greg brings a solid understanding of creating sustainable and prosperous places in each community he touches. Some of his most notable and significant urban design and implementation developments include Lenox Village in Nashville, TN, Durham Farms in Hendersonville, TN, and Stephens Valley in Williamson and Davidson Counties, TN. He also drafts development design guidelines and serves as town architect for several master planned communities in Tennessee and Alabama. As principal in-charge of SGS's Community Architecture Team, Greg has led the design of over 100 unique custom homes in addition to hundreds of townhomes, and multi-family units. Greg is an active member of the Nashville Chapter of Urban Land Institute (ULI), the American Planning Association (APA), and the Congress For The New Urbanism (CNU). He also serves on the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville Advisory Council.
