Senior Design Architect Preston “Buzz” Bussard brings over 35 years of expertise and a commitment to timeless design to the Court Atkins Group residential team. Preston began his architectural career at the University of Wisconsin, where he received a BS in architecture. Prior to joining Court Atkins Group, Preston founded his own firm, Bussard Architects in Geneva, IL, and worked as a senior designer for the nationally-acclaimed firm of Looney, Ricks & Kiss Architects in Memphis, TN. Buzz also played a pivotal design role at BSB Design in Palatine, IL, and Blackburn Associates in Indianapolis, IN. He is a registered architect in both Illinois and South Carolina, and specializes in traditional residential architecture, often drawing his designs by hand. Most recently, Preston’s design guidance can be seen in Builder Magazine, where he served as one of three national jurors for the 2021 Builder’s Choice Awards. He and his wife Jeanette are now officially full-time Lowcountry residents, enjoying their new lifestyle in their dream home in the heart of Bluffton, SC.
