What It's About:

A demo at the 2017 HPBZCompared to metal flashing, today’s flexible flashing tapes are much easier to install, but you still have to understand the proper sequence and techniques to stop water intrusion. Our experts will demonstrate proper window flashing of a conventional wall and a high performance wall side by side. They’ll also discuss specialty flashings that make it easy to flash a door or window with wooden casings.

What You’ll See and Learn:

Attendees examine the frame built at the 2017 HPBZ

  • How to choose materials for compatibility with the window
  • Proper sequencing and integration with WRB
  • The importance of a sloped sill pan and metal head flashing to protect the membrane
  • How to flash a window in a wall with exterior insulation and a door that has wooden casings
