Noise Control in Homes: It’s Not Just Insulation
Tuesday, January 31 | 2:30 - 3:00 PM
LVCC - IBS Construction Performance Zone - SU844
What It’s About
Noise control in homes can be a challenging problem to solve, yet there is no question that consumers equate good acoustics to quality construction. Conflicting messages from manufacturers and advice from the internet can make acoustic performance feel like a black box. In this presentation, we’ll crack open the box to discover the switches and knobs on the inside that can help us achieve good acoustic comfort. You'll learn how the different components in a wall or floor work together (to varying degrees) to help control sound—spoiler—insulation is only one part of the solution.
Presented by Johns Manville.
