    What It's About

Gone are the days when a lonely concrete slab qualifies as outdoor living. Today’s buyers expect as much from their outdoor spaces as they do their kitchens—builders and design professionals must respond accordingly. This program explores how to make outdoor living extraordinary, regardless of size, by designing for three core functions: lounging, dining, and cooking. Learn how to layer in features like fireplaces, media, and water, plan for covered and uncovered areas, and design for year-round use with seasonal solutions like heating and retractable screens. We'll also cover strategies for seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces through materials, finishes, sliding and stacking glass, colors, and more.
