John, the son of Joe Van Lagen, the founder, and alongside his brother William, has been at the helm of our company. In 2005, the brothers took over Joe’s Carpentry, expanding its horizons. While William ventured into the cabinetry business, founding Carver Cabinetry, John continued to steer Joe’s Carpentry to new heights. John has been happily married to his wife Jeannette for 31 years, and together they have raised a beautiful family of 7 children, 3 in-laws, and 3 adorable grandbabies. ❤ When he’s not busy running the show here at our company, John has many hobbies and interests. He loves reading, spending time at the lake, cutting grass, and washing vehicles. He’s also a talented singer and enjoys volunteering as the president of a mission located in Malawi. In fact, when his kids were little and asked to go out for dinner, he would tell them they were going to “John’s Diner” and they would get so excited… only to find out that it was his homemade food they were having!
