Growing up in the farmlands and forests of Western New York provided Luke with an old-school playground of ATVs, snowmobiles, fort building, horseback riding and backyard football. If his childhood could be labeled as ‘adventure’, his teenage years would have the signpost of ‘athletics’, but he wasn’t built for the classroom. After a couple failed attempts in an architecture program at the University of Buffalo, Luke returned home and joined the field in countertop fabrication and kitchen remodeling. After a few years, life took another turn when Luke married Hannah (his wife of over 20 years) and began a 20 year career in non-profit ministry. This path grew his leadership and inter-personal skills as well his organizational abilities, leading large staff and various volunteer teams. But life had another adventure in mind, and during the 2020 pandemic, Luke and Hannah decided to build something for themselves. Using their life savings, they founded H&L Design and Build. H&L is a high end, full service residential remodeling firm that self-performs every phase and discipline of the design, architecture and build process. True to his roots, Luke is always up for an adventure, learning new things and is just getting started.
