John Marcantonio Title: CEO RI Builders Association Born and raised in RI, John was educated in the trade of carpentry by his father and worked for over 15 years in numerous roles for the family custom home building business – Marcantonio Design Builders, a residential home building firm in northern RI. A graduate of Bryant University, John acquired his undergraduate (BSBA) business degree (1990), and MBA in Marketing (1995) and after the construction experience concluded, spent 13 years in product development and promotion within the toy industry as a Marketing Director for Yomega Corp where he was responsible for worldwide distribution and promotion for some of the best-selling toys in the world and did so in partnership and agreements with McDonlds, Hasbro and Bandai – the later being two large global toy firms. For 9 years John also served his community in North Smithfield, RI as a Town Councilman (Vice President) (1995-2004) rounding off a resume of construction, marketing, and local politics - shaping and creating the experiences needed to run the RI Builders Association (RIBA) and its subsidiaries as CEO where he’s been since 2011. In his role as CEO of RIBA, John has help develop world class trade training programs, contractor development and safety training, information resources, insurance offerings and supportive housing advocacy in partnership with State leaders and key stakeholders. He currently resides in Hopkinton RI with his wife and son.
