Dave Caldwell Jr, is President of Caldwell & Johnson Custom Home Builders, a second generation family business founded by his father in 1968 and an NAHB member for over 50 years. Caldwell & Johnson has been a local leader in energy efficient construction since the 1970s, and is now a nationally recognized leader in energy efficient and net zero construction. He received his BA from the University of Rhode Island, MA from Columbia University, and MBA from the University of California, Irvine. Dave served as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1998-2006, and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a past president of the RI Builders Association, President of the Board of the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Vice Chair of the Board of HousingWorks RI, Board member of the State of Rhode Island Energy Efficiency Council, memder of the State of Rhode Island Special Legislative Commission to Study Housing Affordability, the Providence City Plan Commission, and Builders Helping Heroes. Dave and his wife Tina live on the East Side of Providence and have two daughters: Claire, who is attending the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple Universtiy majoring in jewelry design and metalurgy, and Sarah, who is attending a dual program at William and Mary and St Andrews, majoring in economics.
