Speaker Handouts and Other Documents

Builders and contractors wear too many hats, and the best way to manage key responsibilities is to put expectations into writing in the form of written job descriptions and procedures. These not only define expectations, but are also the basis for performance evaluation, allow an owner to delegate more effectively, set clear performance standards and aid in the hiring of future employees. This session provides a systematic 5-step process to implementing “standard operating procedures” so that you can lessen the company dependence on you, begin to effectively delegate day-to-day responsibilities and take on more of a strategic role in your business. THIS SESSION WILL BE OFFERED AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, FROM 8:30-9:30 AM IN ROOM N262.

  • Discover new ways to systematize company operations.
  • Identify organizational needs and how to respond to them.
  • Create a framework for identifying specific tasks for every position in your company.
  • Discover how to create the "standard operating procedures" needed to manage more effectively.

Participants must be registered for a full registration package or a 1-day education with expo pass package valid for the day of the session they wish to attend. Seating for Building Knowledge sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
