What It's About
Offsite modular construction offers tremendous benefit to the builder and buyer. Taking full advantage is not difficult, but it does mean adjusting the way we approach the design of our projects as many of those key processes are consolidated up-front. Changing course later, or worse yet, trying to adapt a plan intended for traditional onsite construction will prove costly. In this session, explore best practices for getting your design right from the start and how doing so can reduce waste, speed up completion time and satisfy multiple entities, including the manufacturer, builder and end user—the homeowner.
What You’ll Learn
- Understand how to develop plans that reduce or eliminate waste and inefficiency in the manufacturing process.
- Realize the benefits of maximizing the use of offsite construction in project design to ensure ease of assembly onsite.
- Learn how to design projects that reduced onsite completion time by minimizing dependence on skilled construction labor.
- Discover how to design creatively within the discipline of modular construction.
