How to Successfully Design & Develop a Built-for-Rent Project
Wednesday, February 1 | 1:00 - 2:00 PM
LVCC - West 203
What It’s About
People want to pursue the American dream of homeownership, yet the economic landscape has buyers pausing on purchases. This has spurred a rapid increase in demand for rental properties and caused the built-for-rent (BFR) model to be one of the fastest-growing sectors of the U.S. housing market. Wise investors and developers are eager to seize on the opportunity, but what goes into the successful design and development of a BFR project? In this fast-paced session packed with visuals and timely data, leading builders, architects, interior designers and marketing experts will explore strategies and best practices for everything from prototypes and plan trends, amenity programming and model merchandising, to handing over the keys to the first renter.
What You’ll Learn
- Study the advantages and the challenges with BFR and how it differs from single family.
- Explore plan trends, typical square footage, prototypes, design and amenity trends, and fit and finish that target the renter-minded to shed light on designing for longevity.
- Learn how to create BFR models that incorporate the latest trends for fastest ROI.
- Examine research that targets the new renter demographics and effective marketing and merchandising practices in an evolving BFR market.
