    What It's About

Rising costs make old value engineering methods risky, often cutting design elements that make a home marketable and profitable. This session shares a smarter approach: bring trade partners in early for a collaborative design process that uncovers efficiencies, reduces waste, and cuts costs buyers don’t care about—from wall assemblies to HVAC and everything in between. Through engaging dialogue, floor plans vignettes and renderings and completed project photos, you’ll learn how to design to your target customer instead of a lot size, protect margins, and create floor plans with stronger market appeal.

    What You’ll Learn

    • Learn how to simplify wall assemblies and truss layouts to reduce materials.
    • Discover how HVAC, plumbing and electrical coordination create hard cost savings down the road.
    • Explore foundation design and installation tips to reduce complexity and waste while saving time during construction.
    • Identify must-keep plan elements that should be protected from VE processes based on their real ROI potential.

    How to Attend

Participants must be registered for an Expo + Education pass. Seating for sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
