The Kitchen That Works: Designing for Real Life, Flexibility & the Whole Home

Tuesday, February 2 | 2:15 - 3:15 PM LVCC - West 224

Kitchens remain one of the most influential spaces in the home—but the strongest designs do more than showcase beautiful finishes and high-end features. They support the way people actually live. Drawing on the perspectives of interior designers and architects, along with current market research and real-world design insight, this session focuses on the kitchen decisions that drive immediate and lasting value: genuine usability, flexible zones, smarter storage, and seamless flow to the rest of the home. Learn which features buyers will pay for, which they quietly skip, and how to design kitchens that work harder, live larger, build smarter, and sell faster at every price point.

  • Analyze the lifestyle, demographic, and market forces shaping kitchen priorities to pinpoint the features buyers will pay for and those they quietly skip.
  • Evaluate emerging kitchen trends through the lens of everyday usability, flexibility, and long-term relevance, not aesthetics alone.
  • Apply flexible zoning, sightlines, and adjacencies that help the kitchen work harder for daily life and strengthen flow to the whole home.
  • Translate interior design and architectural insight into practical choices that meet buyer expectations, support builder goals, and deliver lasting value.

Participants must be registered for an Expo + Education pass. Seating for sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
