What It's About:

It’s the most fundamental proposition in business: you make money by delivering value to stakeholders (i.e. buyers). For builders, this value is created, in large part, by an efficient workflow. Research indicates, however, that 25% of the all the work performed adds no value whatsoever. This means 25% of a builder’s overhead is being wasted—so even with a very manageable 12% overhead, you may be losing 3% (or $30,000 per $1 million in revenue) to your bottom-line every year. This is why Business Process Improvement (BPI) and process mapping are so critical. In this advanced session, you will learn about this concept and how to improve your overall workflow by redesigning, documenting, implementing and managing processes more efficiently, thus creating a streamlined customer experience and overall higher value for your buyers.

What You'll Learn:

  • Learn to incorporate the design and role of Business Process Improvement (BPI) into your company's overall strategic design and operating model.
  • Learn to document the existing state, and then the redesigned and improved state, of every process in your building operation into navigable, teachable process models.
  • Learn what attributes, characteristics and design elements make good processes.
  • Examine one of the most capable and usable process flowchart and process modeling apps.

How to Attend:

Participants must be registered for a full registration package or a 1-day education with expo pass package valid for the day of the session they wish to attend. Seating for Building Knowledge sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
