Lamar Smith is an award-winning builder and real estate developer based in Richmond Hill, Georgia His company builds over 400 homes a year from Bluffton, South Carolina and all along the coast of Georgia to the Florida line. He has served as the President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah and as President of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. In 2015 he founded a Charitable 501C3 corporation called “Operation Hero House” to provide a free house for a service member wounded in the War on Terror. His company and their trades and suppliers built and donated at no charge a brand-new home to a deserving purple heart soldier wounded while fighting in Afghanistan. Lamar and his family host an annual quail hunt for the Wounded Warriors Retreat at his farm in Tattnall County where our hero’s can come enjoy the great outdoors hunting, camaraderie with other veterans that have served in combat including the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the War on Terror. He was inducted in the Georgia Homebuilders Hall of Fame in 2020. He recently served as Land Development Chairman for the National Association of Homebuilders. Lamar enjoys quail hunting, golf, traveling and piloting his own airplane. Lamar is active in his community and his church. He and his wife, Edie, currently live in Richmond Hill, Georgia
