Mike Benshoof has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. He began in his family's remodeling and home building business, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of residential construction.
After earning his degree from Penn State University, he joined NVR, one of the nation's largest homebuilders, where he held leadership roles in production and sales management. He later served as Director of Business Analysis for the Economics Group at the National Association of Home Builders.
In 2002, Mike co-founded SMA Consulting, providing operational, financial, and sales consulting to builders nationwide. He sold his interest in 2019. He is also co-founder and Chairman of the Board for Red Door Homes, a national on-your-lot homebuilding brand established in 2007.
From 2015 to 2024, Mike served as President of Berks Homes, growing the company from 109 to 550 closings and over $200 million in revenue.
Today, Mike is majority owner and CEO of Yingst Building Group, which operates four divisions: Yingst New Homes, Yingst On-Your-Lot, Yingst Remodeling, and Yingst Commercial Construction.
Mike is a published author and frequent speaker, having presented at the International Builders' Show, the Canadian Home Builders' Association, NAHB 20 Clubs, and numerous leadership forums. He holds an MBA in Financial Management and Economics from Marymount University.
