Using Technology to Build Homes That Are Accessible to Everyone

Wednesday, January 22 | 1:30 - 2:00 PM

Event Type: Floor Education

Location: LVCC - High Performance Building Zone - N135, N145

Registration Type: All IBS registration types

Presenter(s): Eric Goranson

What It's About:

Aging-in-place (AIP) is a term that most builders and remodelers are aware of. However, many find it challenging to design bathroom, let alone an entire home, that is both accessible and aesthetically pleasing. During this presentation, Eric will explain how the right materials combined with technology can make a home feel comfortable and offer more function and security for everyone living in it.

What You’ll See and Learn:

  • Learn how to integrate technology into an AIP home and why it matters to a consumer
  • Explore home design that gives access to all using technology as well as material selections that are not part of an actual AIP design but as a standard in your homes
  • Learn how to effectively use high performance smart home technology for an aging client and how to address compatibility issues and technology changes
