What It's About:
There are many organizations that spend time talking about the labor shortage, but few have been successful in actually filling real jobs right now, let alone developing a plan for growing the workforce of the future. This presentation is different—it’s all about action! Homebuilder and professor Mark Zimpfer, Purdue University, hosts a discussion with Scott Wentz, True Homes and Michael Smith, TEACH Construction Initiative, to share innovative programs in place right now that are solving the labor crisis both today and for the future. Building a workforce for the 21st Century requires collaborative partnerships utilizing 21st Century tools and a collective effort from all us to support and train those who want to enter our industry. You’ll hear about programs doing exactly that, including Purdue’s Construction TV, Open Educational Resources and the innovation of the Builders Bridge internship program.
Learn more about the presentations and events taking place at IBS Live. This year, we’re exploring the future of housing and the products, processes and people disrupting our industry.
